About Us

JWB Autism Support Services has been a dream in the making, named in honor of co-founder Molly Barnhart's father, John W. Belill, who passed away in an auto accident in 2018.  John was diagnosed late in life with Fragile X Syndrome, which is recognized on the Autism Spectrum.  John was an amazing father, husband, and overall human with a giant heart and work ethic to match, who overcame many barriers, succeeding greatly in life.  He was married to the love of his life, Ann just 6 days short of 46 years, and had 5 beautiful children and now 9 amazing grandchildren.

Having worked in the child welfare system, Michigan Rehabilitation Services, and public school systems, Molly saw the impact and obstacles that accompany a person who is diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD),  as well as the lack of services in the areas where she worked.  Molly also worked as a contracted mental health therapist with the original mobile crisis unit designated to service those affected by the Flint water crisis, and witnessed the impact of lead and the ongoing effects, namely the diagnosis of ASD that many of these young survivors now have, including those who were in utero during the crisis.  With these experiences,

as well as meeting amazing friends, and colleagues in other disciplinaries related to ASD namely Kasie Johnson, Adrienne Buchowski, Klaire Verbeke, Christina Bukovick, Candace Waggoner, Hilda Quijano, Tiffany Slates & Toni Clark, the reality of this dream has developed.

JWB Autism Support Services did not come to full fruition until Molly met co-founder Dan Barnhart , with his business expertise, prior experience and love for working with those who have different abilities.  Dan's support for this dream has helped greatly in allowing for it to come true!

We are a family-owned and involved company!  You'll likely see Dan filling in as a behavior tech so your child gets the best care despite any illness that may prevent their regular tech to be present.  Dan has successfully completed the behavioral technician training through Relias required for Behavioral Technicians.  Dan also has over a decade worth of experience in coaching children of all abilities.  Rest assured, we understand the enormity of familiarity and routine with those who have ASD and your child will know Dan because of his presence and friendliness in the center, as well as any other substitute tech.

You'll also see Molly around because she is currently working on her Masters Degree to become a Board Certified Behavioral Analyst.  Thus she will likely be working with children, assessing children, and working with technicians.  Molly will also be available to de-escalate and support in any given situation with her experience and education as a mental health counselor and school counselor (MA, LPC, SLC).
